Guests arriving at a Marrakech palace at night with staff handling luggage

Moving three hundred people

The part the parents ask about first, and the part that decides whether the week feels effortless or exhausting.

Visas

Guests arriving at a Marrakech palace at night with luggage being handled by staff

Indian passport holders need a visa for Morocco. There is no visa on arrival, but there is an e-visa that usually clears in one to three days, and an invitation letter from the organiser in Morocco is accepted as proof of purpose. We issue those letters, with the venue confirmations to go with them, checked per passport rather than as one generic pack.

Flights

Marrakech is about three hours forty from London and seven and a half from Dubai. From Mumbai and Delhi it is one stop. We map the routings against the schedule so nobody lands in the middle of their own ceremony.

Rooms

Groom's cream sherwani hanging ready in a palace suite beside his turban

Blocks held across several properties at different price points, so a three hundred name guest list stops being one family's problem to solve. Allocation, rooming lists and check in are ours, not the hotel's.

Transfers

Arrivals met, coaches and cars scheduled per event, and a movement plan for three hundred people that runs to the minute. Every driver knows which event they are on and when they come back.

Questions we are asked most

Can you have a Hindu wedding in Morocco?

Yes. Hindu ceremonies including the Pheras are held in Morocco at private palaces and estates, with a pandit arranged for the rites. Morocco places no restriction on Hindu, Sikh or Jain ceremonies held privately, and a sacred fire can be lit in an outdoor mandap with the venue's agreement.

Can you hold a Sikh Anand Karaj in Marrakech?

Yes. There is no Gurdwara in Marrakech, so the Anand Karaj is held at the venue. We arrange a granthi, the palki sahib and the respectful installation of the Guru Granth Sahib, with a separate room set aside for it and shoes and heads covered as they would be at home. The four laavan are read as normal.

Do you plan Gujarati, Punjabi and South Indian weddings differently?

Yes, because they are different weddings. A Punjabi celebration leans on the Baraat and the Sangeet. A Gujarati one is built around the Garba and the Mandap Muhurat. South Indian weddings are usually morning ceremonies with an entirely different sequence and menu. We plan to the family's own rites rather than to a single template.

How many guests can a Marrakech wedding venue hold?

The private palaces and estates used for Indian weddings around Marrakech hold between 150 and 800 guests, and several can run more than one ceremony a day on the same grounds. Medina riads are usually under 80, which is why they are not used for multi-day Indian weddings.

Why choose Marrakech instead of Rajasthan for an Indian wedding?

Marrakech offers the same palace architecture Indian weddings are designed around, with arches, courtyards, lantern light, ochre and gold. Flights are far shorter from London, Dubai and the rest of Europe. For families spread between the UK, the Gulf and India, it cuts travel time for most of the guest list.

Is Indian vegetarian and Jain catering available in Marrakech?

Yes. Indian chefs and catering teams are flown in for the celebration, and Jain, Swaminarayan and pure vegetarian menus are prepared in separate kitchens with their own equipment where the family requires it.

How many days does an Indian wedding in Marrakech take?

Most run three to five days. A typical four day schedule is Haldi on day one, Mehndi on day two, Sangeet on day three, and the Baraat and Pheras on day four, followed by a reception.

When is the best time of year to marry in Marrakech?

March to May and September to November are the preferred months. Days are warm and evenings stay mild enough to dine and dance outdoors. July and August regularly exceed 40°C, which is difficult across a four day programme.
