Decor for an Indian wedding in Marrakech is built in Marrakech. Shipping a mandap from India takes six to eight weeks with customs and generally costs more than building the same thing here, so the sensible default is local fabrication with the design controlled by whoever the family wants controlling it. Flowers are the clearest case: the market here is excellent, cheap and daily.
Built, shipped or rented
Three routes, and most weddings use all three. The decision is made once, in month three, and then everything else follows from it.

The overnight build
The mandap goes up after the Sangeet comes down, in the same courtyard, in the dark, and it has to be finished and dressed before the first guest arrives. That is a crew working through the night with lighting and power on a property that would rather be closed.
It is also why overnight site access is one of the questions that belongs in the venue contract. A property that locks at midnight cannot give you a mandap by morning, however willing the decorator is.
What a Marrakech decorator needs told
Reference images, not adjectives. Moroccan craftsmen build beautifully from a drawing and guess badly from a description, and the vocabulary differs: a mandap, a mandap with four pillars, and a mandap with a canopy are three different builds.
Tell them the fire is real. A structure over an open flame is built differently, and it is not a detail to discover on the morning.
And tell them the scale. Eight hundred people is not a larger version of eighty. Sightlines, the height of the platform and the depth of the aisle all change.
Flowers, properly used
Order for the morning of, not the night before. In April a marigold string cut yesterday and hung at ten looks tired by two, and the cost of ordering fresh is smaller than families expect.
Garlands for the Milni, the varmala and the mandap are all made here. Keep them cool and out of the sun until the moment, which sounds obvious and is the single most common thing that goes wrong.
